Living Proof ---- Of a Loving God ----- To a Watching World
We dream of a world where every child has at least one new dress or pair of shorts that reminds them that they are special, worthy of respect and loved by God.

Helping Every Child Feel Valued, Respected, And Loved By God.

A Simple Gift Can Carry a Meaningful Message.

Dress a Girl KC Metro is a chapter of Dress a Girl Around the World. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, established in 2025. God has orchestrated our steps and grown our ministry beyond what we could have imagined.

Village pastors share that a girl wearing a new dress presents an appearance that she is well cared for and may discourage would-be predators.  We attach our Dress a Girl label on the outside of each dress or a Shorts for Boys Around the World on each pair of shorts.  The labels send an additional message that each child is under the care of an organization, giving them added protection from those who would harm them, predators or traffickers.

Help Us Continue This Ministry

Monetary donations help us continue creating handmade dresses, skirts, and shorts for children in need. Your generosity helps us clothe children with love, dignity, and hope for a better tomorrow.

Handmade Clothing,
Sewn With Love

DRESSES

Handmade dresses created as a simple gift to remind every child that they matter, deserve dignity, and are worthy of hope.

SKIRTS

Handmade skirts are thoughtfully created for women and children, and are paired with t-shirts to create a complete, comfortable outfit.

SHORTS

Handmade shorts for boys, sewn as part of our ministry and given to children through missionaries.

More Than Clothing

Through the simple gift of a handmade dress, skirt, or pair of shorts, our goal is to remind every child that they are special and deserving of love, care, and respect. Most importantly, we want every child to know that they are seen, supported, and never forgotten.
Every garment we lovingly sew carries a special label on the outside of the pocket “Dress a Girl” for girls and “Shorts for Boys” for boys-serving as a meaningful reminder of the care and purpose behind each handmade gift.

Together, We Can
Make a Difference

SEWING

We sew dresses and skirts for mothers and daughters along with boy’s shorts. The patterns are simple and can be made quite easily, even for beginners. You do not need to know how to sew in order to participate in this ministry. We have many opportunities for those who do not sew. We provide kits to seamstresses. These kits contain everything needed to make the dress, skirt or pair of shorts. They take them home to sew, return the completed garment and select another kit.

Love Is Sewn Into
Every Stitch

The reason why I participate in Dress a Girl is that there are many ways to support spreading the good news and show loving care. I use my time to sew a beautiful dress for a young girl and it is my time to pray for that child and those that are teaching her. It is also a time to remember the one who taught me to sew.

We are thrilled to be able to work with Dress a Girl KC Metro. It is a huge blessing to us and the ministry that God has given us. Clothes like this open many doors to the gospel.

God called me to minister to children. Making dresses allows me the opportunity to be creative while praying for the girl who receives the dress.
